Ugh I just had to read spoilers online about the Vampire Diaries! I hope the TV series will be different from the books…
I don’t think I’ll end up watching the show as much now.
Edit:
The thing about books is that they don’t go on a 1 month hiatus. I think I’m going to stop watching tv series based on books… reading is always better and you don’t...
10 Tips on Writing Well from David Ogilvy →
nevver:
Read the Roman-Raphaelson book on writing. Read it three times.
Write the way you talk. Naturally.
Use short words, short sentences and short paragraphs.
Never use jargon words like reconceptualize, demassification, attitudinally, judgmentally. They are hallmarks of a pretentious ass.
Never write more than two pages on any subject.
Check your quotations.
Never send a letter or a...

For future reference, if I say "Please do not...
I just have a fear of anything I write being copied or not credited to the right person. This can be seen with photographs and people claiming it as their own. I had to put this work I wrote on private because someone didn’t read my request. I am not angry; I don’t want someone to be numb to the idea of copy right just because they see something going around the internet several times....

Writing Realistic Injuries →
Characters climbing cliffs with broken arms or getting knocked out for an hour or so and then running around like nothing happened, bug me. It doesn’t take much longer to get it right, and I’ve found that getting doing the research to get it right can often lead to whole new story possibilities I hadn’t thought of before.
I’m not any sort of medical expert - research for this...

I don’t understand how this is possible. I mean, he could have just bought me the whole American edition. I’m pretty sure the British edition is only available in, well, Britain. Now that he told me, I’m not sure if what he actually got me will beat what he almost got me.
I think it might be the Gilmore Girls DVD series… but if gets me that, it will be anti-climatic...

I am writing a story about a girl whose parents try to raise her as a boy but she rebels. I made a goal to start writing a book, but only the “skeleton” of the story is in the works. I haven’t got much meat yet.

Calling all pre-collegiates!
On my personal blog, a senior in high school messaged me and asked me, “Does it really get better?” She was stressed with taking AP classes and worried about her grades even though I could tell she was pretty studious. I gave her my bit of advice and she seemed a lot more relieved.
I’m a second year student in college. If my school had some sort of Big Sister, Little Sister...

Book Confessions
1. To mark your page you: use a bookmark, bend the page corner, leave the book open face down?
I use a bookmark, but if I lost my bookmark as I usually do, I will leave it face down.
2. Do you lend your books?
I no longer lend my books after allowing two of my friends to borrow them and than having them returned in a less than favorable condition.
3. You find an interesting passage: you...
